A huge THANK YOU to the Idaho Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities for their support of the Sacajawea Interpretive, Cultural, & Educational Center through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economics Security Act (CARES Act) grant funding. This funding helped the Center pay for utilities and other costs from October through February.

This funding immensely helped the Center to pay for heating and electricity in the buildings on site as well as the phone lines and the October payment for the seasonal grounds keeper. With COVID-19 restrictions and concerns over safety, the Center canceled all annual events in 2020 and rentals were down drastically for the year. While the Interpretive Center was able to stay open for 7 days a week from June until September, the loss of revenue from events and rentals was definitely felt. The funding was provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the CARES Act for grants to be administered by the Idaho Humanities Council and the Sacajawea Center appreciates not only the support from both organizations but also all they do for the humanities in Idaho and the United States.
