Angie Hurley, Sacajawea Center Director
Angie has been the Center Director since 2004. She holds advanced degrees in recreation and physical education, with specialization in administration. Her background includes serving as manager for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks at Bannack State Park, Executive Director of the Salmon Arts Council, and managing the Idaho State Civic Symphony.
Her duties include all operations of the 71 acre park, visitor center and office, including programs and special events, general administration, fund development, communications, partnership coordination, and facility and grounds maintenance.

The Sacajawea Center is owned and operated by the City of Salmon, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, Idaho Governor's Lewis & Clark Trail Committee, Salmon-Challis National Forest, Idaho Department of Fish & Game, and numerous non-profit and volunteer organizations. The partners of the Center are committed to the vision to provide: "...education programs that interpret the history of Sacajawea and the significance of her role with the Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery, the unique historical aspects of the expedition within Lemhi County, bring greater understanding and enlightenment to all the people of the world about Native American and Sacajawea's people, the Agaidika Shoshone, promote local community arts, educational and recreational programs, preserve and promote conservation of our environment and open spaces... which will provide a lasting legacy for Sacajawea, the Agaidika Shoshone people, the community, and the Nation".

The Visitor Center boasts 10 trained docents for the 2008 season. Both friendly and knowledgeable, they provide meaningful experiences for visitors.
